Pool Safety Fence from All About Fencing

With summer just around the corner, you may be thinking about installing a private pool in your own backyard.  While most people think about the shape, size, and fun features of their future pool, they sometimes forget pool safety, specifically private pool fencing.

The CDC reports completely isolating a pool with a surrounding fence reduces the risk of children drowning by 83%.  With drowning as the second leading cause of death for children under the age of 14, the people at All About Fencing know how important it is to have a good pool safety fence in place for your children.  Here are a couple of tips to keep in mind if you’re considering installing a pool safety fence:

1.     Make sure your safety fence completely encloses your pool area.  Having a fence that only partially blocks your children (or others) from entering the pool area defeats the purpose of having a fence for pool safety.
2.     Make sure the rest of your yard is secure.  If you don’t have a fence or a gate blocking off the rest of your yard from unwanted guests, you may end up with someone taking an unsupervised and unsafe swim in your pool without your knowledge.
3.     Hire a professional like All About Fencing to install the pool fence.  Sloppy craftsmanship can actually make your pool more hazardous with a fence than without.

Different types of Fencing

When choosing a home fence, businesses and homeowners should take into account not only functionality, but also aesthetics.  A good home fence can greatly increase the security of a building, as well as make it more visually stimulating.

To help you choose the right fence type for your home, Tennessee’s premier fence building company, All About Fencing, has compiled this list of popular fence designs.

1.     Wood Fencing- Many of our customers love wood fencing due to the height of wood panels.  Even though high wood fences can block out the views of pesky eavesdroppers, it also gives guests to your home a welcome feeling.  In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, wood fences are popular due to their long life, often lasting as long as the homes they surround.
3.     PVC Fencing-  PVC is the most affordable home fencing option.  PVC designs resemble their wooden fence counterparts.  However, PVC is more durable than aluminum or wood.  PVC is a great fence if you want something on the cheap, that isn’t going to deteriorate with weather and time.
2.     Vinyl Fencing- Vinyl fencing is five times stronger and four times more durable than wood.  Although the head cost may be greater than that of wood and PVC, vinyl fences last longer than either of their counterparts, and have low to no maintenance.
4.     Aluminum Fencing- Classic and attractive, aluminum is also one of the most basic fence types.  It is relatively low maintenance, unless you decide to paint it, and sturdy.  All About Fencing doesn’t recommend aluminum for areas with severe weather due to rusting.
5.     Wrought Iron Fencing- Although highly malleable (usually fences with interesting architectural designs are cast in wrought iron), wrought iron fences do require constant upkeep and repainting.

All About Fencing is the premier Nashville fencing company, specializing in all types of home, business, and perimeter fencing.  When Ray Whitaker founded All About Fencing 15 years ago, he built his business on strong customer service and great communication to make sure you get exactly what you need out of your home or business fence.
